We are implementing ActivityPub federation, however it is not active yet.
ActivityPub Federation is like a universal language that allows different social media platforms to communicate with each other. Imagine being able to follow, like, and comment on posts from users on other websites without leaving Loops.video—that's what ActivityPub makes possible.
In simple terms, it's similar to how email works: you can send and receive messages to anyone, even if they use a different email service. With ActivityPub, Loops.video can connect with other platforms that support this system, letting you interact with a broader community seamlessly.

Remote followers are users from other platforms or websites that support ActivityPub who choose to follow your content on Loops.video. Since Loops.video is part of the ActivityPub federation—a network of interconnected platforms—users from different websites (often called "instances") can interact with your posts just like local Loops.video users can.
How Does It Work?
- Cross-Platform Following: Someone on another ActivityPub-enabled platform (like Mastodon or Pixelfed) can follow your Loops.video account from their own account on their platform.
- Content Delivery: Once they follow you, your Loops will appear in their home feed on their platform, allowing them to stay updated with your latest content.
- Interaction: Remote followers can engage with your posts by liking, commenting, or sharing, depending on the features supported by their platform.
